Challenges and Strategies for the Protection of Contemporary Object Collections

This lecture presents Alice Hansen’s PhD research on the conservation and protection of modern and contemporary design heritage, with particular attention to the challenges posed by plastics and composite objects. The project focuses on collections in Naples and, more broadly, in Italy, and develops a comparative perspective through her current research period in Denmark, examining conservation strategies, collection management and institutional approaches to the protection of contemporary object collections.
